Caring for Lady May

Light

Can grow anywhere - except in direct sun. Suitable for lower light conditions.

Water & humidity

Water weekly, letting it drain out the bottom of the grow pot. Allow the top 50% of soil to dry out between watering. Kermit's not too phased about humidity.

Feeding

Once every two months in summer with organic fertiliser. Do not feed in winter.

Re-potting

Re-pot every 2 years if necessary to one pot size up. These plants like being root bound. Normal potting soil will do.

Atrium Top Tip

Too much water will cause the leaves to turn yellow. Too little water will cause the leaves to turn brown and fall off.

Plant fact

Philodendron is a member of the Araceae (Arum) family, and is a cultivar of Philodendron erubescens, which originates from the Caribbean, Colombia and Venezuela.
