Medium to bright. If the leaves become too big and start drooping they're getting too much light. If the plant becomes leggy (sticky), they're getting too little.
Water weekly. Allow top layer of soil to dry out before watering. Rubber plants tolerate short dry spells and are not too worried about humidity.
Fertilise 2-3 times in the summer with BonsaiBoost organic canola meal. If you don't want your Rubber Plant to grow too big too fast, reduce feeding.
You can re-pot every year to a bigger pot size until desired size is reached. Or keep them small. Even so, it's good to refresh their soil every year.
Wipe those sultry leaves with a damp cloth to keep them shining and dust free. This also helps to keep aphids and mealy bugs away.
The Ficus elastica produces a milky white latex that was formerly used to make rubber - hence it's name. Native to Southeast Asia and Sri Lanka.
