Medium to bright. Calita enjoys filtered light, but not direct sunlight or her leaves will burn.
Calita likes to have moist soil in summer, but never damp - let just the top layer dry out before watering again. Rather underwater if you're unsure. In winter, wait for the top centimetre of soil to dry out before watering again.
Clarinerviums aren't plants that regularly shed and produce leaves. Each leaf lasts months, and growth of new leaves is slower than other plants, therefore it doesn't like too much fertiliser. Feed twice during the growing season at half dose.
Clarinerviums are epiphytes in the wild, growing in the crevices of trees, their roots free from soil. Their roots like good air flow and oxygen, with water draining away quickly. A good orchid mix with a handful of regular potting soil works best for this plant. Re-pot every year if necessary.
Keep the humidity levels above 50%. In the winter months you may need to spritz the leaves with water or move the plant near a humidifier. Anthuriums grow in moist jungle climates, absorbing water from the air, so make sure it doesn't get too dry. Keep temperatures above 15 degrees Celcius, avoiding cool draughts in winter.
Clarinervium flowers are rather odd, forming on a tall spadix (plant talk for a sticky out spike). The spectacular venation on the leaves is a result of blister or reflective variegation. Tiny air pockets are found between the upper and lower leaves. When light hits the transparent pockets it's reflected, causing the silvery appearance.
