This is the same plant that we get the coffee bean from, and if given the right conditions and care will flower (in 3 -5 years). The flowers produce berries that contain the coffee beans. This plant can grow up to 2m tall, but responds well to pruning and can be kept an ideal size in your house or garden.
Comes in a 14cm grow pot. Decorative pots sold separately.
Flat shipping rates apply per order (add more plants & pay the same on shipping). Gauteng R89. Rest of South Africa R139.

Coffee Plants are understory plants, preferring filtered light. Give them semi-shade outdoors or bright indirect light indoors.
Coffee arabica grows on the mountain slopes of Ethiopia where it is fairly cool, foggy and moist, preferring temperatures between 15-21C. They enjoy humidity levels above 50% and moist soil.
Fertilise once every 2-3 months in summer. They enjoy soil that is rich in nutrients and compost.
Re-pot every 18 months and topup regularly with potting soil to add nutrition. Coffee Plants prefer slightly acidic soil. You can increase acidity levels with acid compost or mulching with pine needles.
Coffee Plants should be pruned in Spring to maintain a bushy appearance.
Most of the world's coffee is harvested along the Bean Belt, which runs along the equator. Coffee beans will taste different depending on where they're grown and the combination of soil, light and temperature conditions. The coffee beans are actually the seed of the cherry.
