Agave 'Kissho Kan'
Regular price R 279.00 Save R -279.00Agave 'Kissho Kan' or Butterfly Agave is a special variety bred in Japan. The name 'Kissho Kan' in Japanese means "happy (lucky) crown". It has a perfectly formed rosette of silver blue leaves, edged with brown spikes. It can grow up to 30cm in diametre, but is a slow grower. This guy will be more than happy outdoors in sun to semi-shade, or indoors by a sunny window.
The Butterfly Agave makes for a perfect feature in a succulent garden, surrounded by rocks and gravel, or on its own in a pot. Or plant it in front of fine grasses or lavender for a striking contrast.
Decorative pots sold separately.

Bright light by a north facing window indoors. It needs at least 4 hours of direct light a day to thrive. Outside it can grow in a spot where it gets shade for most of the day. Read more about caring for your succulent here
Water well once the soil has completely dried out.
Feed once during the growing season with a balanced fertiliser. These are slow growing so don't need much food.
Re-pot if it starts to outgrow its container. Use only a succulent mix.
Try not to get water in the centre of the rosette, but water directly into the soil.
Agaves are often referred to as Century Plants, as they bloom once every 100 years, after which they die. After many years the Kissho Kan can grow 30 - 40cm in diametre
