Customer relations & operations executive

Based in Modderfontein, Johannesburg

Three month contract (with the likelihood of a permanent position based on performance & COVID-19 regulations).

Role overview

The role of customer relations & operations executive calls for someone who is super organised and task oriented. You will need to be able to make sure that operations are flawless. You also need to handle customers with panache, making sure they are happy and brilliantly serviced. We’re all about delivering parcels of happiness and you will need to make sure that happens.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

Customer relations: responding to queries, handling the logistics of returns/refunds/questions about plant care etc

Quality control: Assist in checking the quality of orders, overseeing the packing team to ensure parcels are beautifully & correctly put together and get to the right people on time.

Inventory management: Assist in managing inventory and stock levels, ensuring enough stock is coming in vs sitting of idle stock.

Supplier liaison: Liaising with suppliers to ensure timeous orders of stock and operational supplies.

General day to day tasks to support CEO: You will work closely under the CEO & founder of the company to help carry out day-to-day tasks that are vital to the smooth running of the company.

Anything else that may be asked of you: As we’re a small business, everyone has to be able to chip in wherever they’re needed. This is therefore a role for someone who enjoys being kept on their toes and thrives on spontaneity.

Experience required

We hire for attitude! You don’t need to know about plants or necessarily have e-commerce experience, but you need to be willing to learn and bring your A-game and a ‘can-do’ attitude.

However you need to have at least

  • Tertiary education
  • Impeccable English writing skills (you will be asked to do an email writing test)
  • Natural people skills
  • Proven experience of organisational capability in a previous position
  • Past experience in the following industries are favourable: PR, events management, logistics, digital marketing, e-commerce, hospitality management, nursery management, PA & secretarial.

Annual leave days: standard at 15 days (pro rata for contract)
