Being a succulent, the Crassula requires plenty of sunshine, but if grown outdoors prefers some shade during the day. If growing indoors make sure it's by a bright north or east facing window.
Never over-water your succulent. Wait for the soil to dry out between watering (every week to 10 days). Rather under-water this plant. The leaves also contain hydathodes - tiny pores that absorb water.
Feed twice during the summer months with a balanced fertiliser.
You can re-pot every summer if you want a bigger plant. Only use a succulent mix. Plants are easily divided.
Want more Crassulas? Propagate by taking a cutting of one of the stems and pop it in water until it roots. Some people use a rooting hormone, you can also use aspirin dissolved in water and dunk the end of the stem in the mixture for 3 - 4 hours before placing it in water. Once a healthy root system has grown, transfer to fairly moist succulent mix.
Crassula multiclava grows along forest margins and river banks in coastal and sub tropical thickets, ranging from Mpumalanga, KZN, Eastern and Southern Cape.
