Grown for its large glossy variegated leaves with bold splashes of yellow, this is an easy plant for indoors or out where you need something lush year round. Note: All parts of this plant are toxic if ingested. Keep away from pets and small children.

Light

Bright indirect light indoors, or semi-shade outdoors.

Water & humidity

These plants like regular deep watering in summer, keeping the soil fairly moist.

Feeding

Feed with a fertiliser rich in Nitrogen at the beginning of the growing season.

Re-potting

Re-pot every year in spring. First wet the entire root ball to reduce stress on the plant, then move the plant, root ball in tact, to a larger pot and backfill with potting soil.

Atrium Top Tip

Prune regularly to keep them full and bushy. They can also be pruned into hedges and topiaries.

The Japanese Spindle produces small berry-like fruit. These are poisonous! So beware if you have small children.
